Delta served with $2M lawsuit claiming crew ignored passenger assault
Delta Air Lines is being sued by two passengers who are claiming that Delta flight attendants overserved alcohol to a man which apparently caused him to become overly intoxicated while on board the aircraft. A mother and her teenage daughter allege that the drunken individual groped and sexually assaulted both the 16-year-old girl and her mother during their nine-hour-long international flight to Greece, having departed out of New York's JFK Airport. Reportedly, the mother-daughter duo are now suing the airline for $2 million dollars. The pair also accused Delta staff of having served the man at least ten glasses of vodka and wine over the course of the flight, and that the crew continued to ignore their pleas for assistance until the plane landed. Following their arrival in Athens, Greek police were not alerted. Delta Air Lines has since responded to the lawsuit with statements that neither confirm nor deny the alleged incident. However, a Delta spokesperson made clear that the company has zero tolerance for customers who act inappropriately or commit unlawful behavior while flying with their airline. The company added nothing is more important than the safety of their staff and crew but have no further comment on the pending litigation at this time.
