One of the most important things to get shredded this summer in 2023 is through diet. The best way to lose belly fat while putting on muscle is called a caloric deficit. This is when you cut your calories down, while also focusing on your protein intake and 4 major food group.

To figure out how many calories you will be eating in this caloric deficit, search on any web browser: Calorie Calculator, and it's always the first result. Fill out all the necessary information and the website will list the amount of calories you will need to either maintain, mild weight loss, regular weight loss or an extreme weight loss. There are also listed the number of calories you need to gain weight, in-case you want to bulk. If you want to get shredded for summer without getting super worn out and tired because you're eating less calories, I suggest you go with the mild weight loss, or regular weight loss, but extreme weight loss is not recommended.

A popular belief is that carbs (carbohydrates) are your enemies when you are cutting. WRONG. Carbs is not the enemy. Carbs are your friends, so never cut out all your carbs. For instance, when you wake up in the morning, you can have a bowl of oats, a bagel and two yogurts, which is all mainly carbs, which helps you fuel your workout. You also need to make sure to eat 1g - 1.8g of protein per pound of bodyweight. As I weight 170lbs, I eat around 175 grams of protein a day.

You also need to make sure that you focus on your 4 major food groups. Remember to always get your good fruits and vegetables, protein from good sources like meat, eggs and protein powders. As well as good carbs from sweet potato, brown rice and oats. Make sure to drink about 1 gallon of water a day.

However, the diet won't work if you are not consistent in the gym. Your priority should be to focus on your diet to get shredded for summer of 2023, but you also need to make sure that you're consistent in gym. I recommend a 6-day a week workout routine, while you're focusing on the major muscle groups. To help your journey even more, you should also do a little bit of cardio every day, even if it's just for 10-20 minutes.
