Have you ever found yourself caught in an obsessive spiral? You might start thinking about something that's bothering you, and then you can't stop thinking about it. The more you think about it, the worse it gets, and before you know it, you're feeling overwhelmed and anxious.

This can cover all kinds of "what if" and doubts. There are millions of things that can become material for an obsessive thought.

What makes a spiral so challenging is that we become convinced the subject we are spinning about MUST be fixed and remedied, or else we believe we cannot move forward.

This reveals an important concept I have been teaching for years: the problem is NOT the problem.
It's not about the subject you are spinning about. It's HOW you relate to thoughts that needs help and healing. I talk about this in my book The OCD Healing Journey.

My inbox receives lots of questions that are obsessive, involving a narrow fixation on some kind of subject feel needs clearing up. Meanwhile, life is messy and has so many challenges, how do we navigate through disturbances and walk in greater peace?

So I decided to take a many of these "spirals" and address them on tonights Sunday Night Live.
