Have you had trouble finding the DB canal?

A student had a hard time finding the db canal in a max 2nd molar. They stopped at the right time and just needed a little help to unroof the pulp chamber.
We opened it up and the db orifice lit up like the sun at sunrise - (please insert your metaphor of choice).
