There's a bit more to this story. The vessel used belonged to a rabbi for what we might consider "holy water" for hand washing. Once wine was placed within it, it was considered tainted. But, OY VEY!, who can complain about the best wine!
This "saving the best for last" is a picture of the coming Kingdom and the marriage of the Lion King to his congregational Bride Queen.
