Wood Turning Leaves

This woodturning project has been a long time in the works. Last December, fall finally hit San Diego, so I collected some leaves to see if I could make something cool out of them. I cast the leaves in epoxy resin in a mold and then started to turn a bowl. Unfortunately the leaves would peel away from the resin as I turned, and I ended up with a broken tenon. I finally got around to fixing that and finished the bowl. It wasn't an easy woodwoorking project in the end, but the final result was worth it.
