'Reporter claims to talk to Sandy Hook nurse' - 2013

This reporter says that the nurse claimed to make eye contact with the shooter, and that the nurse claimed that Nancy Lanza was a wonderful Kindergarten teacher at Sandy Hook. Has anyone explained how this reporter got it so wrong?

Here is the ABCNews TV interview with the nurse, Sally Cox, and she says she hid from the shooter. She only saw him from the knees down and he didn't see her.

Oddly, the claim that the nurse made eye-contact with the killer is ignored.
