The Resilience S01E03 - Dawn and Ray

81

Transgenderism quickens an incredible sadness within Dawn and Ray; two parents from Nova Scotia. These loving parents believed they were being supportive as they began their family's gender journey. They openly affirmed their trans daughter by recommendation from therapists but soon felt uneasy as they observed the emotional unravelling caused by the "affirmation model".

Dawn and Ray express feelings of helplessness and isolation as they watch queerness erase the daughter they lovingly raised for 17 years and a new child emerges that they don't recognize. The conversation we share is a raw and candid story of familial distress that many will relate to. For those who are just learning about the negative impacts of Transgenderism, this conversation can serve as an early warning signal that this can happen to anyone.

  • Around 1 hour in, they start getting into how their kids have been afforded a good life and how much it hurts to hear their daughter get triggered by the smallest misstep. Makes me think of the idea that SJWs look for problems where none exist, as they're from a generation who has had everything handed to them and no REAL problems. They speak of how they can't say or text anything to her because of how bad it's gotten. I certainly don't think walking on eggshells and avoiding arguments is healthy, but communication would breakdown completely if you do just get super honest and call their bullshit out... I understand the tough spot parents are in, I see why you named the podcast The Resilience. Still, I think it's very important to put your foot down and hold your ground, but maybe that's just easy for me to say as I'm not going through it... Btw loved your little rant at 1h19m haha, you're exactly right – when was there ever the pretense that we need others to affirm OUR individuality, our sense of identity??? 🤔 The world's gone mad I tell you, MAD!
