Ren Erin Gill, known as Ren, is a Welsh singer-songwriter, producer, rapper, poet, and multi-instrumentalist born on March 29, 1990. He's known for his collaborations and was part of indie hip-hop band Trick The Fox and The Big Push. In 2022, Ren's video for "Hi Ren" went viral, leading to further successful releases and invitations to play major UK festivals including Glastonbury 2023.

Ren, who taught himself to play the guitar, started his career by selling homemade beat CDs. He formed his first band, Trick The Fox, at Bath Spa University and was later discovered by Eric Appapoulay. He signed with Sony Records and began work on his debut album but was unable to complete it due to health issues.

After moving back home to Wales, he relocated to Brighton in 2013. He battled with several misdiagnoses before being correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease. Despite his health struggles, Ren continued to write and record music, releasing his debut solo album "Freckled Angels" in 2016. This album contained tracks he had initially recorded for Trick The Fox.

Ren's music found further recognition with his song "Patience" being included in the soundtrack for the 2017 film "Unrest" and his video for "Hi Ren" receiving an honourable mention at the Prague music video awards in 2023. He also did a retake of The Verve's song "Bittersweet Symphony."

He was part of The Big Push, a Brighton-based busking band until its disbandment in 2022 due to his health. Ren has been recognised by various publications as a rising talent.

In addition to his music, Ren has used his platform to raise awareness for mental health issues. As of 2023, he is in Canada receiving specialised medical treatment for his illness and he has leveraged his fame to fundraise for the RNLI crew on Beaumaris, Anglesey.
