Among other topics discussed include LSU's prominence in the College World Series and the addition of LSU pitching coach Wes Johnson leaving the Tiger's program to join the Georgia Baseball program as the Ike Cousins head baseball coach which was announced on June 5, 2023. Along with Johnson's success in Baton Rouge, he also @MLB experience under his belt with the @Twins. The move will most certainly help the UGA Baseball moving forward as the next baseball season rolls around. They further chop it up about the upcoming @ncaa football season and how Michigan's head coach Jim Harbaugh has instituted a "Beat Georgia" segment into it's own practices. Does LSU have the same form of practice mindset going on in Baton Rouge this season? No matter the answer, if one is playing in the SEC East, they must go through the back-2-back National Champions Athens to win it all. The 2023 season is a critical one for both the Dawgs and the LSU Tigers who are trying to reestablish its prominence as a powerhouse in college football. LSU opens the season with red hot FSU and do not think for a minute that the Tigers' have forgotten about last season's 24-23 loss at the hands of the Seminoles making the game a season setter as an opener. And while some may question whether the Georgia Bulldogs truly have a chance to 3-peat, LSU has a tough road to travel in the coming 2023 season. Florida State, Army, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Alabama, and Koon's "Wild Card" Team in the SEC East of the Auburn Tigers. Koon also believes Texas A&M is a team that LSU and others must watch out for in the coming season. And while it is true that the Aggies have recruited well as of late and are on the rise, they still have to prove that they can put it all together as a collective group on andf off the field of play. Koon and Hall also touched on the recruiting rankings as it relates to the Class of 2024. Currently @247Sports has the Georgia Bulldogs ranked #1 in the recruiting class with the LSU Tigers coming in at the #9 slot in regards to the same respective class. TWSN sports writer Gavin Patrick has stated that he believes that Alabama and Georgia won't make the playoffs in the coming season which is a bold claim and prediction. What Patrick fails to consider is the strength of Georgia's schedule and the fact that the University of Georgia are back-to-back reigning champions who sit on the throne until someone knocks them off. A 3-peat for UGA is not out of the question and time will tell soon enough whether or not such can be accomplished with new QB Carson Beck under center in Athens. SEC Media Days are on the way with the Georgia Bulldogs being represented on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, by Brock Bowers, Sedrick Van Pran, and Kamari Lassiter.
