I needed a reasonably powerful fan which I could clip to the arms of my treadmill, to help to keep me cool when on it over the summer. I decided on this one which is a six-inch mains powered, two-speed, clip-on fan made from plastic with a metal blade guard.

In the box you get the fan itself, the clip stand and a user guide. You have to assemble the fan yourself, but that just takes a minute and is simple and easy to do.

The build quality in general is OK, the fan is pretty lightweight for the size and looks a bit cheap but in general, everything is OK. The jaws have a very firm grip and open to about 40mm with two black soft plastic grips, one of which on my fan keeps working loose. Unlike with some others I have tried, the clip does not double as a desktop stand and it will fall over if not clipped onto something. The rather short hard wired power cable, about 2M in length, has a sealed UK plug on the end. There are no other power options, the fan has no battery or USB power option, which is a pity.

The fan is quite powerful with two speeds selected with a rotary switch on the back. In operation, it is quieter than I expected and not too obtrusive in use. It is no noisier than any other fan I have tried of the same size and quieter than most. Movement of the fan is quite limited and although it can rotate fully it can only tilt up and down by ten degrees.

This a simple and in general well made fan that is reasonably powerful, get the job done, and is not a bad buy for £11.99 pre discount price.
