A pod of humpback whales has been photographed underwater for the first time in Britain. The rare moment was witnessed off the Shetland Islands, Scotland, by coastal and marine photographer Richard Shucksmith and Brydon Thomason. The Shetland Islands’ locals spotted the whales feeding in the area over the previous three weeks, and was anticipating an opportunity to photograph them up close. Richard said: “I had been waiting for a weather window to go and try to get underwater images of the humpback whales.
