How Adolf Hitler Became President AND Chancellor of Germany At The Same Time (1934)

In 1933 Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany.. but in Germany this doesn't give you total power. President Hindenburg still remained. In 1934 the old man was fading fast and Hitler had his opportunity. Would Hitler be able to pull off claiming Hindenburg's role as well as his current one? Would the people accept such a thing?
