Illinois Governor JB Pritzker held a bill signing ceremony in Chicago Friday for a new law revamping the state’s supervised release system. Gov. Pritzker said the new changes will help create “successful outcomes” for citizens previously incarcerated and make communities safer, with provisions including the reduction of mandatory supervision after certain educational milestones and the elimination of several terms related to the release of a minor. Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin and rapper and criminal justice activist Meek Mill were also in attendance at the event.
