Relaxing Rain Meditation Playing the Wooden Fish or Mu Yu a Buddhist Instrument

I recently made a longer rain meditation video with the Mu Yu/Wooden Fish and felt it better for people who don't meditate for more than 10-15 minutes to have a choice of a shorter and slower version. Since the first one was 30 minutes and begins faster.

It is meant to replicate heartbeats per minute. You may try to envision the beats as your own heartbeat slows as you go deeper into your meditation. The rain in the background and on the screen is quite soothing, especially on hot, stressful days. Here in the USA, we are currently in a major countrywide heat wave.

I also wanted to provide a couple of informative YouTube links below that talk about the Mu Yu or Wooden Fish as we English speakers call it. The Mu Yu does come in different lengths and sizes. In the future, I will provide those additional sizes in upcoming videos.

This type of instrument is very common when chanting mantras and sutras in Mahayana Buddhist Temples and is always very calm and relaxing to listen to. I finish it with a precious dancing lotus flower leading to a statue of our own deity of compassion, Guan Yin.

I like most people prefer to meditate with my eyes closed, however, I do begin my meditations with eye gazing open eyes for the first 5-10 minutes. So, visually watching something as I listen to mantras or chanting helps control the monkey busy busy mind. I think everyone has this to interact with at times.

Meditation is critical to my peace of mind and well-being. I hope this brings some peace or insight to you. I am a practicing Buddhist. I do not pass judgment upon other faiths. I believe anyone following a path of not harming others or themselves is most important.

We are all connected regardless. We all want to be happy and loved. It is also innate in us to help one another. Hopefully, someday we can all live together happily free from war, hatred, racism, anger, fear, and greed. just imagine what that would be like. Our own Heaven on Mother Earth.
