Lieutenant Richard Weber Newark Police Division, New Jersey End of Watch Monday, May 1, 2023

Newark Police Lieutenant Richard Weber, a devoted husband and father, passed away on May 1, 2023,  due to  contracting COVID-19 while assigned to the Liaison Unit.  He touched countless lives during his 25-year tenure in the Newark Police Department, where he rose through the ranks due to his exceptional and heroic police work.

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Richard pursued higher education before discovering his true calling—serving his hometown as a member of the police force. Every gesture and interaction showed his infectious personality, kindness, and love for those around him. Richard's devotion to his family as a loving husband and father was unparalleled.

Richard is survived by his wife, two sons, parents, siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and his Newark PD family.
