Famous Places number 42, James May Bay and Honourable Bus Stop, Lake Kawaguchi, looking to Mt. Fuji.
After extensive research comparing video from the outstanding "James May: Our Man in Japan" (available on Amazon Prime) with maps and street view (Google, Bing, OSM), my son (also James) is certain that we found the spot where a bus intruded across back of shot as James (May, that is) was having an epiphany about Life, the Universe, and Everything to do with Mt. Fuji, coming to realise that Japan's friendly neighbourhood stratovolcano was so much more than "basically a triangle"...
In the absence of a handy blue plaque, and in the presence of much water covering the shingle beach, we were unable to place a memorial on the very spot where James (still May) crafted his masterpiece. However, James (my son) and I made this short video to commemorate the occasion.
