Oblivious of the danger lurking out in the tall grass, the caretaker Carl Tanner arrives on the Bomar Ranch and gives us a brief tour of his newest gig. An amazing 1883 homestead that looks perfect for finishing (or coming up with) a novel he must produce by winter or face bankruptcy. The only problem? The sheer vastness of the country--and the jungle sea of tall grass surrounding the compound--is intimidating in itself. And shrugs off the one out-of-place object that hints at the danger hiding in the shadows of deep grass.
