My family has served our country from the days of the Revenue Cutter Service and is still serving. My uncle received the Navy Cross for his action that day. Our US Coast Guard history of service is "Always There and Always Ready". The US Army is the only one of our Military Services that has more battle streamers and campaign ribbons than the US Coast Guard. Their constant "in harms way" attitude and the many life saving responsibilities they are tasked with makes this smallest of our Uniformed Services very important to our country's security and the welfare of our citizens. Semper Paratus = Always Ready.
