Sen. McConnell freezes midsentence during press conference

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) abruptly froze during opening remarks at a Senate Republicans press conference Wednesday afternoon. Sen. McConnell was reporting on the status of the National Defense Authorization Act when he stopped speaking midsentence and stared ahead in silence for about 20 seconds. The 81-year-old Senator left for his office for several minutes before returning at the end of the press briefing to take questions from reporters.
