The Reluctant Messenger - Zoom Dress Rehearsal. June 26, 2020.

A trifecta of firsts for this creator (dramatic monologue written; theatrical production, staged and filmed; and, public dramatic performance, live or filmed), The Reluctant Messenger is one part personal exposition, one part social commentary; and, one part plea to the audience for acceptance and compassion as WE are ALL called to engage in some sober reflection on our "way of life".
This recording was made hours before the live streamed premier at the Workman Arts 2020 Open House Zoom event on June 26, 2020. The streamed performance itself, is unavailable for posting. Limited skills and dwindling resources, combined with a backlog of other projects, have delayed the production of it as an edited short film.
As reluctant as this messenger may be to post the unpolished work, the Message itself is relentlessly begging to be heard.

"Bravo! Brilliant social critique, Dorothy! I love how you weave it in with your own story. And dig the mirror work...!! :)"
~ Comment from the live streamed performance by Andrea Thompson. Spoken Word Artist, Writer, Editor, Educator, MFA.
