If I had to pick a favourite of all of my songs, this would be it. It really should be accompanied by piano. Would love to do it with a big band arrangement.

In A Rut (March 2006)

i've gotta get, up out of bed
i've gotta stand, know where i am
i've gotta move back in the groove
oh i'm so stuck, stuck in a rut

i want to rise and shed this guise
i want to see all i can be
i want to move back in the groove
but i'm so stuck, stuck in this rut

and, if i ask you to put a dime on my head ('cause i'm skipping)
i just forgot the record player is dead
nobody gets the analogy - you can see
that i'm so stuck, stuck in my rut

*whistle solo

so, if i ask you to put a dime on my head ('cause i'm skipping)
i just forgot the record player is dead
nobody gets the analogy - you can see
that i'm so stuck, stuck in my rut

i want to strive and be alive
i want to sing, catch a brass ring
i want to move back in the groove
but i'm so stuck, stuck in this rut
i'm outta luck, i'm stuck in a rut
give me a nudge, 'cause i'm stuck in a rut
