Suing in Court, Biblical Counseling

Jesus often spoke of what the ideal and perfect heart before God would be. Jesus spoke in word pictures so it would be clear to our minds. He said, "if your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out...and if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off" Matthew 5:29-30. The style of speech was meant to be persuasive and was exaggerated to make His point. Shortly after Jesus made the above statement He said, "If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic (shirt), let him have your cloak (coat) also" Matthew 5:40. Jesus was more concerned with our heart motivations before God, than justice in this very temporary world.
