The song won the 1989 Sanremo Festival, making it the third best-selling single among those presented in that edition of the Festival, after Esatto by Francesco Salvi and Vasco by Jovanotti.

The two artists also recorded together the song I would have liked, presented a few months later at the Euro-vision Song Contest 1989, where it finished in ninth place.
