Legend says that, one day Lucio Dalla was forced to dock at the Sorrento Harbor due to a breakdown in his boat, so he had to spend the night in a hotel, speaking with the Concierge he discovered that the great tenor Enrico Caruso and Lucio Dalla asked to lodge in that same hotel just that room where there was a piano. Dalla began to compose this song which he called Caruso, he said that it was perhaps the spirit of Enrico Caruso himself who inspired it. This is the legend.
