If Life Is Full Of Difficulties and You Feel Like Giving Up Watch This! Bhagavad Gita Lessons
The Bhagavad Gita is a sacred Hindu scripture that forms part of the Indian epic Mahabharata. It is a 700-verse dialogue between the prince Arjuna and the god Krishna, who serves as his charioteer. The setting of the dialogue is the battlefield of Kurukshetra, just before the great war is about to begin.
One of the best descriptions of the Bhagavad Gita can be summarized as follows:
The Battle of Dharma and Duty: The Bhagavad Gita addresses the inner conflict faced by Arjuna as he stands on the battlefield, torn between his duty as a warrior (Kshatriya) and his moral dilemma of fighting against his own kith and kin, including revered teachers, elders, and friends. This battle within his mind is symbolic of the struggle every individual faces when they encounter moral and ethical dilemmas in life.
The Path of Self-Realization: Lord Krishna, serving as Arjuna's charioteer, imparts profound spiritual wisdom to him, guiding him towards the path of self-realization and understanding one's true nature. Krishna teaches that the physical body is temporary and the soul is eternal. He advises Arjuna to fulfill his Kshatriya duty without attachment to the outcomes, recognizing that the soul is unaffected by birth and death.
Concepts of Karma and Dharma: The Bhagavad Gita introduces the concepts of Karma (action) and Dharma (duty/righteousness). It teaches that one should act without attachment to the fruits of actions, performing their duties selflessly and in accordance with their righteous path. This way, they can accumulate good Karma and progress spiritually.
The Yoga of Devotion: Krishna emphasizes the importance of Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion, where one surrenders oneself completely to God with love and devotion. He encourages Arjuna to seek refuge in the divine and develop a personal relationship with God.
Transcending Dualities: The Gita encourages transcending the dualities of life, such as joy and sorrow, success and failure, and pleasure and pain. One must maintain equanimity and remain steadfast in their spiritual journey.
The Ultimate Purpose of Life: The Bhagavad Gita reveals that the ultimate purpose of life is to attain liberation (Moksha) from the cycle of birth and death (Samsara) and unite with the divine. This can be achieved by dedicating one's actions and life to God and following the path of righteousness and self-realization.
In summary, the Bhagavad Gita is a timeless and profound philosophical discourse that addresses the deeper aspects of life, duty, and spirituality. It offers guidance on living a life of purpose, righteousness, and inner peace while pursuing the ultimate goal of liberation. The text continues to inspire and guide millions of people worldwide on their spiritual journeys.
