Can you imagine a GIANT rodent living in water?!! Well, that's what lives in South America! Capybara are the LARGEST aquatic rodents in the world! Capybara are related to the Guinea Pigs. They are found in every South American country except for Chile. They are Herbivores known for grazing on aquatic plants and fruits and tree bark. Unfortunately for the Capybara, they are a preferred prey for many predators such as the green anaconda, jaguar, caiman, and large predatory birds. If a capybara is able to escape wounded into the rivers, piranhas take advantage and feed.
