Zan Tyler: Homeschool or Bust
In this episode of The Sentinel Report, Alex interviews Zan Tyler, a podcaster, speaker and author, a consultant for BJU Press and the Home School Legal Defense Association, and the founder of the South Carolina Association of Independent Home Schools (SCAIHS). Zan joins Alex to discuss homeschooling and much more!
In the news, Alex covers:
1--Scouting appears to be collapsing. At its peak, the BSA hosted 50,960 attendees at the 1964 Jamboree at Valley Forge, Pa., and President Lyndon B. Johnson gave a speech. Attendance waned and waxed over the years, and in 2017, around 40,000 Scouts went to the Jambo at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, a 10,600-acre property in West Virginia that had been donated to the BSA. This year, only 15,000 are expected to attend.
2--Google, one of the most evil companies in the world, is planning to scrape everything you post online to train its AI.
Additions to Google’s Privacy Policy are making some observers worry that all of your content is about to be fed into Google's AI tools. Alterations to the terms and conditions now explicitly state that your "publicly available information" will be used to train in-house Google AI.
3--Republicans on a House Appropriations Committee subcommittee voted to remove federal funding for three LGBTQ community centers during a hearing.
Eventually passing in a 32-26 partisan vote, tensions between Reps. Tom Cole, R-Okla., and Mark Pocan, D-Wis., boiled over when it was first introduced.
The $3.62 million for the sites in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts was part of the annual funding to the Departments of Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development.
In addition, the amendment prohibits federal funds from being used to fly LGBTQ pride flags outside government buildings.
4--European Commissioner Thierry Breton announces that from August 25, social networks will be obliged to immediately delete "hateful content" or "which call for revolt" under penalty of being cut off on the territory.
5--National Association for Gun Rights Issues Travel Advisory for the State of Massachusetts Boston, MA: The National Association for Gun Rights has issued a travel advisory for gun owners traveling to and within Massachusetts in response to the State Legislature’s 140-page bill, House Docket 4420. HD 4420 is a comprehensive gun control bill that would ostensibly ban more guns than any current law in the United States.
These are some of the provisions contained in the bill:
* Updates the state definition of "Assault-style firearm" to ban almost all semiautomatic
firearms.
* Bans the concealed carry of firearms at private businesses unless expressly permitted.
* Retroactive compulsory registration of all firearms.
* Registration of all firearm magazines and feeding devices; no grandfathering.
*It requires all feeding devices and magazines to have a serial number.
* Ban anyone under age 21 from buying or carrying a semi-automatic shotgun or rifle.
* Lays out compulsory "safe storage" requirements.
* Changes the definition of "firearm" to include stun guns.
* Puts more regulations on firearms dealers.
Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights "This is probably the biggest and worst package of gun control regulation I have ever seen, and that is saying a lot. A ban on almost all guns, registration of every gun and magazine in the state (old and new), and a de facto ban on firearms carry are in the bill. Massachusetts just secured the top position as the most hostile state in the union to gun owners," said Dudley Brown, President of the National Association for Gun Rights. "That is why NAGR is issuing a Travel Advisory for all gun owners within the state or thinking of traveling to the state."
"Your gun rights and your freedom are at serious risk in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. If you live there you might want to pack your bags and if you are thinking of traveling there, you need to reconsider," said Brown.
6--Brainwashed German idiots block traffic all over the country to protest global warming. Some protestors are gluing themselves to the street. Some might lose their hands as a result.
