New home sales drop in June after May's surge

New home sales are dropping, down from 2.5% in June compared to May. Sales for new construction, however, are still up nearly 24% from a year ago. Buyers have been relying on those builds as an alternative to existing homes due to a drop in supply for older homes. Mortgage rates have now reached a high of nearly 7% at the beginning of June.
