Violent wildfires destroy woods & farmland in Syria

Merciless wildfires that broke out in woodland areas in the northern countryside of Latakia, Syria, spread to farmland, consuming everything in its path. Locals say they managed to protect their homes, but olive and citrus trees, vegetable plants, and irrigation system were destroyed.
