Osiris, The Obelisk & Secret Societies

In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was murdered by his brother and dismembered into 14 pieces that were scattered across the country. His wife, Isis, retrieved all of the pieces except one: his penis. It had been eaten by a fish in the Nile.

The obelisk, placed in key areas around the world, is a phallus symbol representing Osiris’ missing 14th part. It is a tribute to the sun god and marks centers of power and influence.

These monuments are venerated by adepts of the secret mystery schools; fertility cults that go back to ancient Babylon. The obelisk’s esoteric meaning is death and rebirth. Similar to
Ouroboros, the Phoenix rising and Order out of Chaos.
