Introduction to Joshua || Session 1

An overview of where the book of Joshua fits in the overall story of the Bible, including the Abrahamic Covenant, the beginning of Israel, the Egyptian captivity, wandering in the wilderness. We remind the listener what Joshua has done up to now, what he was like, including his participation in the twelve original spies, and Joshua’s faith in contrast to Israel’s doubts. We review the list of provisions God provided for Israel up to this point in the Bible. We explain that the book of Joshua is accurate history but also an allegory of salvation in Christ.
