As the flames approached resorts and coastal villages, private boats were employed to evacuate many of those affected, according to reports. Local media has recently reported that a fierce battle rages on four fronts in Rhodes. Firefighters, volunteers, and residents are working to prevent the flames from reaching the village of Vati.
