A foreign mercenary in the Ukrainian ranks talks about the influence the Far Right paramilitary groups have in the Ukrainian Army:

- During Maidan in the west of Ukraine many different militias grew, but mostly Right Sektor and their Ukrainian Volunteer Corps. At the same time all other parts of Ukraine were popping up with groups creating a really big paramilitary scene across the country, seizing weapons from old arsenals.

The Ukrainian Volunteer Corps is so large compared to the Ukrainian Army that it influences Ukrainian military structure even to this day.
