Why Choose a DEAD Cartridge in 2023 .308 win

Lots of talk today about the 308 win and if it is still a good cartridge in modern day. Several years ago, when building my first ar10 chassis, i choose the 6.5 creedmoor. Should you choose a .308 today? is it dead?
