Efforts to control the forest fire that started yesterday at noon in Saruhanlı district of Manisa continue.The fire, which started yesterday between the rural Hatıplar and Sarısığır and Sarıçam neighbourhoods of the district and which was intervened from the air with 4 helicopters with night vision throughout the night and on the ground with nearly 60 land vehicles, is trying to be brought under control.Authorities reported that the struggle continues largely from the ground, the progress of the fire has been stopped and the work is getting better.On the other hand, the damage in the Sarısığır neighbourhood, which was evacuated and almost all of which was burnt, emerged with the first light of the day.
Those who returned to their homes in the neighbourhood after the fire danger passed were very saddened when they saw their burnt houses, tractors and animals that perished. The women who consoled themselves by hugging each other shed tears over their losses.
