Here's How To Make Deep Fried Butter On A Stick

It is an acquired taste, but no visit to a state fair is the same with the food there! From corn dogs and popcorn, to chocolate-covered jalapeno peppers and pretty much anything you can think of, dunked into a deep fryer for your own gourman pleasure; state fairs offer an abundance of food to tickle your taste buds and your stomach. But the one thing that seems a bit too curious to grasp is deep fried butter.

How exactly do you fry butter? The stuff only stays solid in low temperatures and the fryer is nowhere even close. But if you do freeze it solid first and then encase it in sweet cinnamon batter, you will have a treat for yourself in no time.

First of all, you need to prep your butter. Unwrap your butter sticks halfway, so that you don’t melt the fat with your body temperature and stick a skewer right down the middle. Freeze them until solid. Until then, prep your batter by mixing flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, lightly beaten egg, honey and milk into a bowl.

Transfer the batter into a glass tall enough to fit the entire stick of butter in there. Dunk the sticks one by one and throw them in the hot oil. Fry until a lovely brown color and drizzle with some icing.

Now, when you bite into a thing like this, there is always the thought of what exactly are you biting into? A vessel of hot, liquid fat or something else? We will let you be the judge of that!

Enjoy!
