Boulder County Sheriff's Deputies Meet Their Feathery Match

After some curious head twisting (on both sides) it safely flew away. Watch the deputy have a conversation with the baby owl as it clicks back to her.

A tiny owl with a catlike face, oversized head, and bright yellow eyes, the Northern Saw-whet Owl is practically bursting with attitude. It has a very sophisticated hearing due to vertically asymmetrical ears and different shape of ear openings.

These Owls hunt mainly at dusk and dawn and most often use the "sit and wait" tactic to drop down onto prey on the ground from low hunting perches. Maybe this little guy is trying to set a trap.

This fellow is standing in the middle of the road and encounters human. The human starts making some strange sounds (talking) to which the little bird curiously twists its head, on both sides, trying to understand what the deal is about.

When the human gets closer, it doesn't move or get scared away. It just stands there and observes. It kneels down and get back up.

It is so adorable. This brave bird is enjoying his chat with human. He is very friendly and not shy at all.
