Question: how to lose weight on
carnivore?
-no need to measure or count
-if eating naturally, should be intuitive
-in nature, animals eat what they want
Humans should eat fatty meat...
-eating too lean meat?
[4.5g protein per kg may be problem]
-majority of intake is protein: too much
-otherwise, no problem at all
Eating meat that is losing its flavor...
-add butter or fat [tallow]
-good target: 1g fat to 1g protein
[that is 70% calories from fat]
Fat is not just an energy source
-is essential nutrient--includes
-essential fatty acids
-fat soluble vitamins [D A K E]
-cholesterol
If limit fat intake, signals body that
you don't have resources available...
-so, body STORES BODY FAT
-rather than raising metabolism
-why yo-yo dieting DOESN'T WORK
-eating less turns down metabolism
-then, return to normal eating, but
body doesn't turn up metabolism
-so WEIGHT IS SLAMMED BACK ON
Body says: 'We need to STORE THIS!'
