Hogs are at the most optimal weight and the day has come to head to the processor. For y'all looking to get into raising pigs, you learn quickly that they don't anything they don't want to. So loading them onto a trailer at 250-300lbs can be a chore with a stubborn pig. We use two methods when loading our pigs that have worked very well. One is to incentivize movement with food rewards and the other is to use physical barriers. Since we cut the pigs food supply off 24 hours before loading, food is all they are thinking about. The physical barrier helps block their vision to focus on the direction you want them to go as well as limiting their ability to walk backwards.
