This classic, written by Hoagy Carmichael as a jazz tune in 1927, with the words by Mitchell Parish added two years later, is one of the most recorded songs in music history with over 1,500 versions done.

Notable versions include Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Willie Nelson. I choose this version mainly for the fabulous background singing by the a cappella group Naturally 7. This is a live performance from a concert at Madison Square Garden.

It was also popular as a Big Band standard during the 1930's and 40' with Artie Shaw's version one of the best known. The song was also featured prominently in the Woody Allen movie "Stardust Memories" (1980), one of Allen's most controversial that you either love or hate. (I loved it!)
