Why Buy To Let's Are Dead & The UK Housing Market Is Doomed! It's no surprise to anyone that the housing market in the UK is as dysfunctional as it gets. We have rising costs for all those associated like landlords, tenants and home owners. But we also have a huge lack of supply for not only new homes but also for those properties people can rent out. With such a low supply unable to meet the demand, it leaves people frustrated, often venting at the wrong direction and causes prices to increase as a result. With higher prices, we see more pressures on families and households and in turn, the viscous cycle of anger, despair and pointing the finger continues. I always prided myself into being a great landlord, offering a home to someone who couldn't or didn't want to buy one, that I would happily house my mother in. It's a shame it's been tarnished as a bad thing. I also rent (out of choice) and am grateful for the private sector because forking out hundreds of thousands to live in the house of my choice is not something i'd ever want to do.
