Chancellor's Report to the Great Monarch 009 - The Wheat and Cockle of Leisure

This is a series of videos I make where I play the fictional role of a chancellor advising the Great Monarch. I make twenty-three points about whatever subject matter I'm covering in the video. If you'd rather drink from the source, study the Bible (get a Catholic one, not a Lutheran edit), the Catechism, Mystical City of God, Marian Apparitions, and listen to good priests who are my superior in these things in general.

Someone had commented about video games on twitter, a Catholic, well-intentioned of course as many of us are, but with perhaps too narrow and external a viewpoint on it, as if it's universally held to be true that video games are a conduit of the devil and will bring you to ruin. Video games and many other forms of leisure, and their more exact forms of it (ie, video game genre, and there is a LOT of them) can be occasions of virtue (honing your mind, like reading Shakespeare, or simply teaching you to be more practical in your affairs), or can be occasions of vice (like negligence, gluttony, and an obsession with glory over other individuals, getting a false sense of success). But like all forms of leisure, we need to be able to examine them and apply Catholic principles to them because this is what we do... we don't just say "all x are bad"... we see if we can inject some God into it.
