Car Driver and Passenger Conflict of Interest

In this video, the Chicago car accident lawyer Scott DeSalvo and his co-host Amelia Finefrock talk about whether there is aconflict of interest between a car driver and passnger if they are both hurt in a car crash with another driver.

Like so many of these situation, the real answer is 'it depends'. If the car crash is one where the driver did nothign wrong -- like being at a dead stop and being rear-ended -- then there probably isn't a conflict.

But in any situation where the other driver could put any blame whatsoever on your driver, this is something your lawyer should think about, explain to you, and have you sign a wiaver, so that there is no confusion. Alternatively there may be situations where you'd want to hire separate lawyers.
