The community of Big Trout Lake in Northern Ontario was struggling to care for a growing dog population. These were homeless dogs, being cared for by the community the best they could. But they loved the dogs and knew the dogs needed more help than they could give. They reached out to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A massive airlift rescue was organized to bring these dogs to Peterborough, for care by volunteers from Humane Societies and Veterinary clinics. The result was a small miracle and a new life for these loving dogs in forever homes.
