This non-ET related segment features a conversation that I should have recorded years earlier with my Uncle, Peter Lloyd Summerscales, as his sharing of his recollections were not as clear and concise as they had been in past times. The camera was faulty and recording poor, but all I had to work with at the time, still I find these vignettes of life deeply important for me, and of relevance in documenting the human experience.

JFK rescued my uncle in 1943, when he was stranded by his own inept captain and ship crew, who completely forgot that they'd send this teenager to one of the islands with a message for the Americans....it makes you wonder at what point his absence would have been noticed, if at all....meanwhile, stranded as he was, the newly instated Lieutenant Junior Grade, with is Patrol Torpedo boat gave the youngster a ride to his ship....
asked why he'd been so kind, Kennedy replied that 'he'd had a good breakfast...' and dropped off his passenger.

It's a small story, but something I always liked to hear, and I was glad to add it as a chapter in my recently completed autobiography 'Vignettes of a Life' which is told as a series of short stories which will shortly be available on Amazon.
