Is Hoover or Dyson better for you?

So between Hoover and Dyson is one definitively better than the other? Basically, no. What it really comes down to is VALUE.

Generally speaking, Dyson builds a better vacuum, but the cost is also substantially higher. And depending on your lifestyle and area you’re looking to clean, it is very possible that a well-built Hoover would suit your needs just fine.

So how do you choose?

The best way to pick the best vacuum for you, is to ask yourself a couple of important questions. Depending on your answers, you may find yourself going home with a Dyson or a Hoover vacuum, and either could be right.

The first question you need to answer, what type of vacuum do you need?
Upright Vacuum – Upright models tend to pack a bigger punch. They are larger, heavier, and also generally have a larger dust bin capacity. These vacuums are corded units and may also have a number of on-board accessories.

Stick Vacuum – Stick vacuums are smaller than traditional uprights, may be corded or cordless, and have smaller dust bin capacities. These vacuums are also lighter weight

Robot Vacuum – Robot vacuums are autonomous vacuums that can be scheduled ahead of time, clean while you’re away, and then automatically recharge to prepare for tomorrow. That being said, both Hoover and Dyson tend to struggle with this category in my opinion.

The second question you need to answer, what is your budget?

Although prices vary by vacuum type, in general, Hoovers just come in at a lower price point compared to most Dysons. Hoovers typically range from low to mid-tier pricing, while Dysons fall into a much wider price range; low to high.

Either you’re in the market for a conservative Hoover or a top-of-the-line Dyson. There are a few models that are comparable and equal costs.

The third and final question, what features are important to you?

You want a cordless stick vacuum with a long run time? You’ll want to check out the Dyson V10.

You want a great price and an XL dust bin. The Hoover T-Series WindTunnel Rewind may be for you.

You want the power of an upright, but in a smaller size? The Dyson Small Ball or Hoover Air compact upright could be a great choice.

Depending on your needs, budget, and features on your “must-have list”, both Hoover and Dyson could be right for you.
