Lentil Soup (Moong Dal)

Soup:

1 cup split yellow Moong dal, (rinse)
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp turmeric
3 cups water

Seasoning:

1 Tbs olive oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/8 tsp asafetida

Garnish (optional)

1 tsp ginger,
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp lemon juice
2 Tb chutney
1 cup potatoes
