Todd Orr was hiking when he encountered a Mamma Grizzly Bear and her Cubs. She immediately charged him from 80 yards away, at 25 feet Mr. Orr sprayed a can of Bear spray at the Sow. The Bear plowed through the spray and attacked, clawing and biting Mr. Orr on the shoulder, back and arms. Mr. Orr covered his neck and head with his arms and played dead until the bear left. With multiple bite wounds and scratches he started jogging the three miles back to his truck. About ten minutes down the trail the Bear came barreling out of the trees and attacked again, clawing Mr. Orr on the head and breaking his arm. Mr. Orr was able to survive by playing dead again. Once the bear left he made his was to his truck and drove himself to the nearest hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
