Xbox Controller Drift Repair Using Minimal Parts

There's a lot to know when dealing with controller repair. Hopefully this romp through the nightmares of an Xbox One controller will help you out in some way.
Screw driver needed: T8 security Torx (T6 needed to remove motherboards)
Main resistors used: (size 603) 82k, 100k, 68k, 51k - I the drift needs to be pulled up then apply the resistor to the 2 points that control up. You can find this out by using metal tweezers to short them and find out which is which.
also needed
Advil/ Tylenol: for the headaches.

There are also tiny potentiometers that can be soldered to the 3 solder points of the stick pots (like the up, down pot for example) and you can dial the drift in to zero. There are different values for these "adjuster" pots as well. I have 50k pots that work all day long on PS4 controllers, with rare exceptions but seldom do they work on Xbox controllers if ever (it may be an issue with the adjuster pots' value). When installed and the face plate put back on, your stick may be centered but now you can't go all the way up or down anymore. Your range is cut down.
These little pots you have to wire yourself, but you can also get them on little flex circuit boards that make everything easy. On AliExpress I found 10k and 50k packs and run under a $1 each. I even cut them in half when I need to adjust just one pot.
